Privacy Policy
Policy version 2026-08-21 · Effective 21 August 2026
StayNPark ("we", "us") operates the StayNPark iOS app and staynpark.app. This policy explains the personal information we collect, why we use it, who receives it, how long we keep it and how you can access, correct or delete it. We handle personal information in accordance with applicable Australian privacy law.
What we collect and why
- Account details — name, email, phone number and authentication records, used to create and secure your account, communicate about bookings and prevent abuse.
- Vehicle details — make, model, registration plate and size, used to check fit and identify the booked vehicle to the Host.
- Location and search information — precise location, only with device permission, and locations you search for. We use this to show nearby spaces, provide directions and reminders, create or route a Spot Request, and notify eligible nearby Hosts. A Spot Request shares the requested parking location or map area and booking window with eligible Hosts. That may reveal where you intend to park; we do not separately share your account or home address unless it is also the location you requested. You can search by typing an address if location permission is declined.
- Listing information — address, photos, dimensions (which may include LiDAR measurements), availability, access notes, features and price, used to publish and operate a Host's listing.
- Booking, payment and payout records — booked times, prices, charges, refunds, extensions, overtime amounts, payout eligibility and payouts. We use these to operate the marketplace, send receipts, calculate amounts, prevent fraud, resolve disputes and meet record-keeping obligations. Stripe processes card details; StayNPark does not receive the full card number.
- Saved-card consent — Stripe's payment-method identifier and records showing when you agreed to future use for a booked amount and specifically disclosed deterministic overtime or overstay-administration charges. We use these records to process authorised off-session charges, provide receipts and investigate disputes. Variable claims follow evidence, notice and review before any approved amount is sought.
- Incident and claim evidence — reports, photos, timestamps, messages, invoices, quotes, access records and responses, used to assess refunds, damage, cleaning, access, overtime and lawful removal matters. Relevant evidence may be shared with the other party so they can respond, subject to safety and privacy redactions.
- Host compliance details — identity, address, date of birth, ABN or other tax and payout information where needed by law or a payment provider. We use this to verify Hosts, pay earnings and satisfy applicable reporting obligations. Stripe handles bank account details used for payouts.
- Identity verification material — if the optional verification feature is offered and you use it, identification images and a live selfie may be reviewed to decide whether to issue a badge. The images are access-controlled, not displayed publicly and deleted under the retention settings described when collected. Verification is a trust signal, not a guarantee.
- Messages, support and safety reports — used to deliver Host–Parker communication, investigate issues and maintain platform safety.
- Device and diagnostic data — push token, device and app version, crash and security records, used to send operational alerts and maintain the service.
Who receives information
- Hosts and Parkers receive the limited booking, vehicle, access and profile information needed to provide or use the space, plus relevant redacted evidence in a claim.
- Stripe processes card payments, saved payment methods, refunds and Host payouts. See Stripe's privacy policy.
- Supabase provides database, authentication and file storage infrastructure; Vercel hosts the website; and Apple supports app distribution, push notifications, maps and Sign in with Apple where used.
- Vetted service providers, such as a towing or storage provider, receive only information reasonably needed if a lawful service is actually assessed and arranged.
- Government, regulatory or law-enforcement bodiesreceive information where we are legally required or authorised to provide it, including applicable tax-platform reporting.
We do not sell personal information or share it with data brokers or third-party advertising networks.
Storage and retention
We keep account information while the account is active and retain transaction, tax, fraud, claim and dispute records for the period reasonably needed for those purposes or required by law. Different records therefore have different retention periods. When information is no longer required, we delete or de-identify it. Backup and legal- hold copies may take longer to expire.
Your choices and account deletion
You can withdraw location or notification permission in iOS Settings, remove a saved payment method where no obligation prevents it, and delete your account in the app at More → Settings → Delete Account. You may also email privacy@staynpark.app. Deleting an account does not erase transaction or dispute records we must lawfully retain. See account deletion.
Access, correction and complaints
Ask to access or correct your information, or make a privacy complaint, by emailing privacy@staynpark.app. We will explain the result. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
